Who are we?
Given the importance of water for big cities, they have invested in treatment plants for wastewater. BIEECO goes a step beyond by offering a solution to treat sludge accumulated in these plants, thereby avoiding the generation of foci of infection, odor and vermin generated by the creation of landfills.
Out of the technology used in thermal sludge drying, it is possible to eliminate the formation of landfills and take advantage of the decomposition of organic waste for the production of energy from this source, which is entirely clean and environmentally friendly.

How do we do it?
The Sludge Thermal Drying Integral System is built within the premises of each processing plant, and its characteristics depend on the infrastructure and specific needs of each. It consists of a series of unit processes formed by thermal drying equipment and peripheral equipment necessary for a fully functioning operation.
The unit processes and facilities are grouped into:
- Sludge dryers.
- Storage and transport of dehydrated sludge dryers.
- Transport and storage of dry sludge for shipment.
- Heating system.
- Cooling system for condensation of evaporated water.
- Deodorization system.
- Civil works and buildings
- Electrical installation.
- Biogas treatment system.
Auxiliary facilities required for operation.
The process consists of four phases:
1.- Reception and extrusion
Sludge is deposited in a collection hopper, from where it passes to the forming system, which distributes the product throughout the width of the tape. Thus it facilitates the passage of air through the product, without passing the sludge plastic state.
2.- Tapes
Sludge-laden tapes travel through the tunnel, with no movement thereof, thus preventing dust generation and possible jams.
3.- Drying
The drying process is performed by means of fans that generate the movement of hot, dry air between 85 and 90 ° C in closed circuit. With temperatures below the boiling water, risks are reduced, and the residual heat can be used from other process — for example, the burning of biogas which is part of the water — treatment process — thereby reducing costs and resources.
4.- Final product
Dried sludge is stored in 200-liter containers and shipped to customers for use as fuel.
Where do we do it?
When it comes to the service of thermal drying for sludge, one of our first projects is being developed at Dulces Nombres treatment plant in the municipality of Pesquería, Nuevo León.
